Vintage Inspired Baby Nursery

by Sara Duckett
(Orange County, CA)

Our vintage nursery was inspired by vintage details, and soft neutrals. We are adopting and won't know the sex of the baby ahead of time, so it had to be soft, serene, and welcoming.

The room is painted in a mint green color. I can't recall the specifics, as we painted it years ago.

The crib is from Pottery Barn and the rest of the furniture pieces are vintage Finds, except for the cabinet which is from theLandofNod.com.

I had the bedding custom made with vintage fabrics and trim, and some organic sherpa.

The nursery chandelier and drapes are both from Pottery Barn, and the butterfly mobile was purchased on Etsy.com.

Our baby goodies are stored in baskets, on built in shelves, andsome are hidden away in small lidded baskets to carry out into other rooms.

I spent a few months finding the perfect details for the room. We've been struggling to have children for eight years, so my ideas were a long time in the making.

I did most of the nursery design and decorating on my own, but my in-laws helped create the bedding.

I love the room because it is unique and shows just how loved a new baby will be in our home.
