Vintage Feminine Nursery

Our nursery was inspired by the nursery designed for baby Vivienne at the blog Lay Baby.

What brand and color of paint did you use?

Olympic One - Serendipty (mint green/tiffany blue)

What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?

Da Vinci Jenny Lind (in Black) from Amazon.com

What brand of nursery furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?

Various - a refurbished miniature dresser as a changing table from the Etsy Vendor Tarins Old Things New.

Da Vinci Jenny Lind Crib from Amazon.

South Shore Dresser Chest from Walmart.com.

We used some pieces of furniture that we already had -- a taupe rocker and small side table.

What nursery bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?

Lambs and Ivy Little Princess from Amazon.com

Tell us about your window treatments, nursery lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?

We purchased our lamps and crystal dome light at Loews and virtually everything else from the store Home Goods.

I spent a lot of time visiting Home Goods over several months and collected things as they showed up. All of the picture frames, the pink book shelves, and knick knacks all came from Home Goods.

I hung a pink Cherokee dress that we purchased at Target. We have a few mirrors, a tea set, and a damask rug that were hand me downs from Nana.

The

art work in the frames was either created by myself in photoshop or purchased as digital downloads or prints from various Etsy vendors.

I can supply the names of the vendors for specific artwork if need be.

How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?

In the dresser chests or in the closet in little plastic yellow baskets that were purchased at the dollar store.

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?

It took me a few months, going at a fairly slow pace. I took my time finding things that I felt were affordable but looked nice. It was so much fun and I was a little sad when the room was complete. My favorite part was designing all of the art work for the walls and figuring out how to hang it all.

Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?

I did most of it. I painted it, built the furniture, and designed and decorated. My husband did a lot, though, He installed crown molding, hung the heavier frames, installed our crystal dome light, and installed the closet system.

What do you love most about your little one's finished baby room?

Everything.... but mostly I adore the walls covered in framed art and the crib in the center of the room.
