Tinkerbell Nursery Idea
by Heidi
Tinkerbell Nursery Idea
The theme for my nursery idea was tinkerbell - the writing says "I believe in Fairies". We measured the blocks off, taped them and painted! I painted this all by myself!! I just used anything round that I could find in different sizes, lids, pop bottle lids, etc... ![]() My mother-in-law painted this, she is so good!! She is an awsome artist that travels the country painting at bike rallies. She does murals too though - amazing stuff! You can check out her work at www.signsandwondersbysue.com ![]() If you're looking for more Tinkerbell theme inspiration, check out the fairy nursery decor page. There I'll help you find the best fairy bedding, wall decor, furniture, lighting, rugs, bargains and more! I'm so glad Heidi decided to submit this Tinkerbell Nursery design. It demonstrates a very simple but highly effective nursery decorating technique that I want to share with you... Paint techniques... The use of various paint techniques to decorate your nursery wall is one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to jazz up your design. In this tinkerbell nursery, Heidi has used blocks, circles and painted lettering to create three different accent walls. Notice how the blocks are in three complementary colors rather than two. This prevents the checker-board effect that one often gets when block painting. Blocks are simple to create step-by-step.
Heidi created the circles in her Tinkerbell Fairy Nursery by drawing around anything round that she could lay her hands on. Then she painted the circles in different colors. If you want bigger circles you will need to use a simple circle making tool.
The longer the string, the bigger your circle will be. Adjust the length to form circles of different sizes. In Heidi's Tinkerbell Nursery, the circles on the wall do not have an outline. If you want to outline your circles, paint the inside first and then follow with the outline when the inside is dry. Tip: If you want to check how your circle pattern looks before you start drawing and painting, cut your circles out of posterboard and attach them to your wall using double-sided sticky tape. Move them around until you find a pattern that you like, then draw around them with a pencil. Remove the circles and paint! See how one mom did it in her whimsical nursery. If you want to try this accent wall approach in your baby nursery, don't forget the other easy and effective technique of stripe painting.
