The Modern Outdoors Nursery

The bedding fabric I found inspired my nursery design. I loved the colors and didn't want an all gray or blue nursery. My house is also a 60's mid-century modern ranch so I wanted a room that fit.

What brand and color of paint did you use?

Sherwin Williams, Knockout Orange.

If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.

The reclaimed wood feature wall is actually vinyl plank flooring.

What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?

Pottery Barn Kids Kendall Crib.

What brand of nursery furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?

Land of Nod Ellipse Dresser.

What nursery bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?

Modern Tot on Etsy.

Tell us about your window treatments, nursery lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?

Curtains and rod are from Target, changing table light is from Steelcase, wall decor was from Hobby Lobby except for a needlepoint made by my mother in law.

How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?

In baskets and embroidered Pottery Barn Kids totes on shelves. The ledges for the books worked great because the room is only 9'x8'. Every inch of storage counts!

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?

It took me about 3 months, little by little. I am an interior designer so every detail had to be well thought out ahead of time.

Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?

On my own.

What do you love most about your little one's finished baby room?

The colors and textures are playful yet sophisticated, and the orange gives a really warm cozy feeling.

I love the reclaimed wood wall. It gives the room a really rustic feel. Perfect with the orange.
