My husband and I went with a soft pink theme with neutral accent colors for our baby girl's room. We didn't really realize we had a theme coming together until we added the wall art letters. They really made the room pop!
Tell us about your window treatments, nursery lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?
As far as wall decor, we wanted to keep it simple and relaxing, with a single staple piece. We both wanted Jocelyn's name printed big above the crib, but wanted something more custom than we were finding in stores. I found exactly what we were looking for, completely out of the box from what I was thinking. The letters above her crib are actually from a soundproofing company I found online called Audimute Acoustic Panels. As first time parents, we were a little skeptical about what kind of material would be in the nursery, but we were super excited to see they're made out of eco-friendly recycled cotton and newspaper. And they were completely customizable, in the font, size, and color we wanted to perfectly match our design.
How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?
The longest part of the process was, as usual, painting. That's one of the reasons we weren't jumping into a lot of wall decor - we just spent days getting the walls painted! The easiest part were the wall letters. Each one came with peel and stick adhesive strips on the back, so all we had to do was decide how high to place them.
Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?
My husband and I did the nursery ourselves. As first time parents, we wanted to be really hands on in the process. Friends and family did help, paint though!
What do you love most about your little one's finished baby room?
What I love most about the finished nursery are the letters. There's something very comforting about knowing they are made with eco-friendly recycled material, especially when they are right above her bed. They also just look so nice, and really finished the room for us. We've actually been researching acoustics and soundproofing materials since purchasing these letters, and are excited to add the wall art shapes Audimute has made from the same material when this room becomes a toddler's bedroom, to help protect her little ears!
