Soothing Baby Nursery

The basis for my room is the alphabet soup bedding and an antique shelf that I started with. I did the rest of the room around those two items.


What brand and color of paint did you use?
The base color is vanilla cream by dutch boy and the mural is multiple colors and not sure the brand.


If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.
My neighbor, who is an artist, and her friend did the faux finishing on the walls. I wanted a soft look with some trees.


What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?
DaVinci from Amazon.


What brand of furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?
The dresser is an antique that was given to us and a friend of ours refinished it to match the crib. The tall dresser with the two shelves was built by my husband's grandpa.


What bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?
It's called Alphabet Soup, from Amazon.


Tell us about your window treatments, lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?
The window treatments were all made by mom.


How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?
Things are stored in drawers and baskets.


How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?
It took us about 2 months to complete. It was really fun and it was so wonderful having close friends and family help us create the perfect baby's room.


Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?
We had help!

My dear friend and neighbor painted the murals.

My husband's grandpa built the tall dresser and repaired the antique dresser.

My husband's close friend re-finished the antique dresser and the tall dresser.

My mom made the curtains and valances.


What do you love most about your little one's finished room?
What I love most is that we had so many wonderful people help us do the baby's room. It truly was done with lots of love and we'll have so many great stories to tell our baby about how it all came together.
