Small baby nursery

I'm 22 and fell pregnant accidentally. So I tried to use my creative mind instead of money to create the perfect nursery for my baby boy.

I started looking at some ideas on the internet but couldn't find one that would suit my pocket and make me happy. Also I get bored with cartoon characters and colour real quick. I think a baby room should be light and soft on the eye so I thought I would mostly stick with white. I soon realized that white would be boring, so I used light neutral colours such as grey and cream.

I soon started day dreaming about this nursery and luckily for me I dream in pictures.

I got a baby sleigh cot from gumtree and our neighbor surprised me with a compactum he build himself. When I got the compactum there was no stopping me. Everyone knows that when I want something I WILL get it.

I started using my petrol money for the necessary decorating. (Every time my boyfriend asked me where I got the money i just told him not to worry and smiled.)

I then started with painting the room a light grey (Dulux grey steel 2) My boyfriend and I decided to do it ourselves. It was so much fun bonding with him while painting and seeing and feeling the excitement in the room. He painted the top half and I painted the bottom as I'm not allowed to reach higher than my head.

Day 2 of painting the room I took a day's leave to finish the painting so that I could start arranging the room as I had imagined. The next morning I got up early and began.

I soon realized that the top half needed its second coat but my boyfriend wasn't there to help, so I got a chair, got up and started painting the top half.

As I said if I want something I want it NOW. I then began to move the furniture in to place without even giving the paint time to dry.

Again, I got up on the chair with my hammer and nail to hang my mosquito net from the ceiling.

When my boyfriend came home I thought he would be surprised and happy that I worked so hard to finish the nursery, but instead of getting a pat on the shoulder I got a lecture for being irresponsible. (OOPS) we soon made up and he congratulated me on the perfect nursery AND my hard work.
