I wanted to do something different with my baby girl's room that wasn't like all the others that generally have tons of pink everywhere! I got the idea for the mural from a picture that I had found online, and I just built the room around that!

The paint I used is called Martha Stewart "salt water". I managed to free hand the whole tree! I didn't use any stencils!

The crib is the Delta Soho 5 in 1 convertible crib in Chocolate. The Changing table and the Armoire were inexpensive Craigslist purchases! I did however, sand and repaint the changing table!

I found a crib bedding set that I LOVED (Cotton Tale Raspberry Dot) But I could not bring myself to spend for it! SO, with a little help from my super talented mom, we went shopping for fabric and recreated it for a lot less money! I LOVE IT!

The window treatments were bought on sale from Target. They were just plain off white curtains... So I used leftover fabric that I had from the crib set skirt, and put the panels on the bottom of the curtains to give it some color.

The chandelier was also an amazing deal from Ebay! The rug came from a clearance sale at a local Carpet Mart...Also an amazing deal!

I made the floral squares on the wall above the changing table with some fabric that I had bought a while back from JoAnn Fabrics. I simply cut out the squares and used spray adhesive to attach them to foam boards! (what I love about this idea, is that you can customize the size to fit your wall!)

The Crib mobile was also a creation from the leftover crib set fabric! I managed to find a mobile on craigslist that was in great condition, took the accessories off of it, and then I got busy making the birds by hand! I was SO happy with the end result! The changing pad cover was a purchase from Babies R Us, as was the basket on the changing table.

The Armoire provides LOTS of storage! I actually took one of the upper shelves out and put a bar in it so that I could hang all the little outfits in it! There are also a total of 3 large drawers there! That, combined with the drawers in the changing table and also drawers from the stand beside my glider make lots of room for all the goods!

The painting and setup pretty much took place on one long day. However it took me several weeks of accumulating accessories to complete the room!
I am an obsessive DIYer, so I had SO much fun thinking up and doing all of the little projects! I also love seeing everything come together! My mom is equally ridiculous when it comes to DIY projects. She helped me out so much! We had so much fun!

I love the overall feel! It is so cozy, and because of the huge window, there is so much natural light! But as for my favorite detail, I love the tree!

Can't wait for this little girl to arrive so I can put this room to use!

TIP: If painting or making your own tree seems a bit daunting, try an easy stick, removable tree wall decal. There are lots of beautiful ones available and they really brighten up the room!

I just love that you've used blue in a baby girl's room. Who says it's just for boys? Combined with the dusty pink it's absolutely gorgeous, soft and feminine!
