Safari Animal Baby Nursery

At our baby shower we received a stuffed giraffe and I thought it was the cutest thing. That was when I decided two things; Giraffes were my favorite animal, and that I would base my son's nursery on cute safari animals. Also I knew there was a huge market out there for my nursery theme.

What brand and color of paint did you use?

We used Behr paint and the color was pool party. We applied 2 coats of it.

If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.

The only thing that we added were wall decals which we bought off of Amazon.com. They were easy to put up but very time consuming.

What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?

I'm not 100% sure on this one, our crib was a gift from the grandparents, All I can tell you now is that it's a graco.

What brand of nursery furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?

I fell in LOVE with Teamsons Sunny Safari line. Not only did I fall in love with all the different things they had online, when the products got here I fell in love even more. They were even more beautiful in person than in the picture. I guess that each piece is hand painted I HIGHLY recommend their products. The only thing that is not pictured from this company is the toy chest which we didn't have at the time this picture was taken.

What nursery bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?

We didn't buy a set but we did stick to our safari nursery theme. we use either blue, green, or safari sheets from carters which we bought on Amazon.com.

Tell us about your window treatments, nursery lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?

Our valance grandma bought just at walmart!

The "rug" that I have in

the pictures is actually the "mat" from our evenflo exersaucer triple fun jungle.

The wall decals we bought at Amazon.com and a set from walmart.

On the outside of his door are hand painted letters of his name that go from the top to the middle of the door.

How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?

Most of our baby items are under the changing station or on his bookcase and dresser. Since the rocker is no longer needed we left all his stuffed animals sitting in it.

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?

When we moved into our home we painted the walls immediately while he was still in my belly so it would be all set for his arrival.

All the decals and other accessories were added when he was about 5 months old. I had such a blast doing it. Once I got all I needed it only took me about a day to put up all the decals and rearrange the furniture in his room.

My favorite part was probably figuring out where everything would look best. Also when I was all done, I couldn't believe that I had done that all myself.

Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?

Since I was pregnant, Daddy did most of the painting, but after that I was on my own. I showed him my plans before but he didn't really seem too interested.

What do you love most about your little one's finished baby room?

There is not one thing that I can pick out. I love the paint color, I am in love with the decals, but if I had to pick just one, it would have to be his book shelf and the toy box.

If you're interested in a Safari theme nursery, teamsons sunny safari is the brand to buy!
