Royal Vintage Nursery
by Yanice Picone
Royal Vintage Nursery
We used the Cotton Tale Design French Cuffs bedding set as a starting point. We wanted to have a fantasy-royal feeling to the room, so the purple color and butterflies seemed the perfect additions to the theme. I bought three large butterflies, from a local store, that we hung from the ceiling over the changing table. We used white satin ribbon in order to give a more luxurious feeling to the room and to also add to the fantasy. There are also three white medium butterflies that I scattered over the room. There are several baskets and keepsakes that I decorated with satin ribbon and satin roses and flowers. I decorated the picture frame and spray-painted mirrors, bought at Marshalls, with paper flowers bought from eBay. I also used a vintage looking picture frame and cross that adds to the royal vintage nursery theme. How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves? The baby's goodies are stored in baskets, the closet, and in her dresser. How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part? It took us about two and a half months to complete the nursery. My husband and I have very busy schedules. I had fun in the process. I truly enjoy putting ideas into action. My favorite part was the things (ribbon, trim, flowers and little details) that I personally made and added to the room. Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do? My husband helped a lot with the more physical aspects of the project. I had the vision in my mind and we worked together to make it a reality. What do you love most about your little one's finished room? The thing I love the most about Giuliana's room is sitting in the rocking chair with my Little Princess and enjoying the whole effect that the Royal Vintage nursery has on me.
