Roman's Angel watching over him Nursery

After 4 years of trying, we became pregnant with boy/girl twins. However, 24 weeks into the pregnancy we got the devastating news at our sonogram appointment that our little girl, Kaiya's, heart had stopped beating. I went on to carry both babies, Kaiya and Roman, until I was 30 weeks pregnant at which time Kaiya's sac ruptured. My husband and I were able to hold our "Angel" baby and she was so very beautiful. Roman was born weighing only 3 pounds but was very strong and healthy and is doing great!

Romans 9:9 reads: "For this is how the promise was stated. When I return Sarah shall have a Son" (He was born on 9/9/2010)!!! I had rainbows outside my window during labor. It is our belief that Kaiya and Roman will always have a strong spiritual bond and that Kaiya is Roman's "Angel watching over him", which inspired us to do this nursery.

After repainting the nursery from pink and blue to all blue, we decided to leave artwork of his sister up and leave pink in the clouds so we can think of her daily and let it be a reminder that she is Our Angel Watching Over Us! An Artist helped paint the clouds on the ceiling. We also had the artist paint Roman's inspirational birth scripture, Romans 9:9 around my maternity picture that was taken when I was 12 weeks pregnant with the twins.

We bought the Kalini crib from BabyEarth.com and the bedding was custom made. My mother in law made the curtains with the same fabric that was used to make the baby bedding. I used baskets for the soft books and the hardbooks on the shelves. At my shower I asked that everyone bring their favorite childhood book instead of a card and that could be the beginning of his book collection.

This nursery has a very special meaning to me and my husband. Let it suffice to say that we spent 4 years dreaming and planning this special room, and had no idea how God's Plan would be revealed.

Our angel nursery theme is truly a special haven for me. Walking into it gives me a feeling of peace and tranquility and I hope that you enjoy it as much as we do!
