Rock and Roll Nursery

Our oldest son just loved playing the drums and everything that had to do with music so he was our inspiration for the rock and roll nursery.

What brand and color of paint did you use?
Valspar- We used a chocolate brown on the bottom and on the ceiling and a sky baby blue in the center.

If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.
We had wall decals custom made and they were designed from the bed sets.

What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?
Pottery Barn- Sleigh crib.

What brand of furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?
We also got the bedroom set from Pottery Barn - it was the matching furniture to the sleigh bed. We also have a sleigh toddler bed in the room for our oldest son.

What bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?
We have the Rock and Roll crib bedding from Lambs and Ivy. I bought it from amazon.com.

Tell us about your window treatments, lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?
We only have recess lighting in the room. We took the chandelier out from our oldest sons nursery and replaced it with a light cover and put a 4 ft star decal on the ceiling.

The room has a rug with a drum set on it in

front of the crib which we also purchased on amazon.com.

The wall decor consists of mostly wall decals we had custom made all based and designed around the bedding. We have a couple of picture frames in which I glued painted guitar pics on.

We also had letters made on landofnod.com that have the rock and roll theme and the letters spell out 'brothers'. Other wall decor we have is the decor that comes with the bedding which was also purchased on amazon.com.

We also hung up two real guitars (purchased on amazon.com) on guitar hang hooks in the room. We have a baby piano that sits on the floor with a stool which was purchased on amazon.com. There is also a tricycle which was purchased off poshtots.com that we decorated with stars and music notes.

How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?
Inside the armoire, changing table and a couple of baskets.

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?
It took about a month with the help of my husband. It was a lot of fun. And my favorite part would have to be my husband being Mr.Decorator!

What do you love most about your little one's finished room?
I love everything about it!! My favorite thing about it would have to be the words we put on the left wall that say big brother's rock, little brother's roll!

I am doing the same theme for my little man. I am stuck on the walls though and loved your custom decals! Where did you have them made? I cannot find stars and such that match the bedding! Beautiful nursery! Thank you for sharing.
