26 August 2008, International Playthings Recalls Stroller Activity Bars Due to Choking Hazard.
The recall includes International Playthings Taggies™ Strollin’ Along Stroller Activity Bars.
The multicolored, fabric, and plastic activity bars feature a yellow giraffe, a purple hippo and a blue elephant attached to a 12” long elliptical base with straps that attach to a stroller. The Taggies™ and Earlyears® logos are located on woven and satin labels sewn into the seam on the lower left front of the activity bar. The recalled stroller bars were sold at specialty toy stores nationwide and on the Internet from February 2007 through July 2008 for about $23. The shiny material on the elephant’s ear on the activity bar can detach, posing a choking hazard to your baby. The voluntarily recalled baby products consist of 10,000 units. Stop using the recalled activity bars and contact International Playthings for a free replacement toy. 05 August 2008, Baby Appleseed Recalls Davenport Cribs Due to Fall Hazard.
The recall includes Davenport crib models that begin with the model numbers 273-xxxx-xxxx and have manufacture dates on or before August 2007 printed on a label located on the right side of the lower inner panel of the crib.
The recalled cribs have two mattress support systems - a metal one and a wooden one. The recalled cribs were sold at specialty juvenile product stores nationwide from December 2006 through September 2007 for between $600 and $800. The cribs have a two mattress support system. The secondary mattress support, used for the lowest position, does not meet the full 26 inch minimum height in its lowest position. This poses a fall hazard to your baby. The voluntarily recalled baby products consist of 500 units. Stop using the recalled crib in the third lowest position, which uses the wooden mattress support, and contact Baby Appleseed to receive a repair kit. 05 August 2008, Mother Hubbard’s Cupboards Recalls Cribs Due to Fall Hazard.
The recall includes the following wooden full-size cribs:
Only date codes from 0306 through 0308 are included in this recall. “Mother Hubbard’s Cupboards”, the model number and date code are printed on a label located on the bottom inside of the right side. The cribs were sold at juvenile product stores from March 2006 through March 2008 for between $500 and $650. The distance between the mattress support bracket in the lowest position and the top of the side rail in the highest position is less than the required 26 inches, posing a fall hazard to babies who may climb over the railing. The voluntarily recalled baby products consist of 1300 units. Stop using the crib immediately and contact Mother Hubbard’s Cupboards to receive instructions on how to re-install the support brackets to eliminate the hazard. 29 July 2008, Earthentree Recalls Childrens Wooden Toys Due to Choking and Strangulation Hazards.
This recall involves a variety of wooden toys including egg shakers (maracas), pull toys, rattles, and trains.
The toys are painted glossy red, orange, green, brown, yellow or natural wood. The toys were sold at Earthentree’s Web site, Fairs, Trade Shows and retail stores nationwide from December 2007 through May 2008 for about $7 to $34.
The recalled toys contain small parts or can break into small parts, posing a choking hazard. Some of the toys also have a string longer than 12 inches, which can pose a strangulation hazard to your baby.
The voluntarily recalled baby products consist of 375 units. Take these toys away from your baby immediately and contact Earthentree for exchange or refund. 25 July 2008, Daiso Recalls Childrens Stuffed Toy Dogs Due to Choking Hazard.
The recalled toys are crème colored stuffed dogs with black eyes and nose. Some of the toys have brown spots on the back.
A tag attached to the toy is written in Japanese language with UPC codes: 4947678264166 and 4947678246063. The toy dogs were sold at Daiso retail stores in California and Washington State from October 2007 through December 2007 for about $3. The stuffed toys contain small parts, posing a choking hazard to your baby. The voluntarily recalled baby products consist of 40 units. Take these toy dogs away from your baby immediately and return them to any Daiso store for a full refund. 24 July 2008, Kids II Recalls Bright Starts Ring Rattles Due to Choking Hazard.
The soft toy rattle is a bee with a yellow head, ring-shaped green body, blue/green wings and purple/red antennas.
Model number 8534 and date code PA8 are printed on a sewn-in label on the bee’s head. The rattles were sold at toy stores, mass merchandisers, and other retail stores nationwide from January 2008 through June 2008 for about $2-3. The tip of the rattle’s antenna can detach and pose a choking hazard to your baby. Kids II has received two reports of the tip of the antenna detaching from the rattle, including one report that the purple ball from the tip of the antenna was in the baby’s mouth. No injuries have been reported. The voluntarily recalled baby products consist of 19,000 units. Take these rattles away from your baby immediately and contact Kids II to receive a free replacement rattle. 22 July 2008, It’s MY Binky Recalls Personalized Pacifiers Due to Choking Hazard.
![]() The It's MY Binky personalized pacifiers involved in this recall were sold in blue, white and pink with various words or designs printed on the button of the pacifier. The recalled pacifiers have "Japlo" imprinted on the front of the pacifier shield at the bottom, center. The pacifiers were sold at Nordstrom and baby boutique retail stores nationwide and online at www.itsmybinky.com from February 2006 through June 2008 for between $5 and $6. The pacifier button, ring handle and shield with nipple can detach, posing a choking hazard to your baby. It’s My Binky has received two reports of the pacifier button, ring handle and shield with nipple detaching. The voluntarily recalled baby products consist of 115,000 units. Take these pacifiers away from your baby immediately and return them to the store where purchased or contact the firm if purchased online to receive a free replacement pacifier. 03 July 2008, Bayside Furnishings Recalls LaJolla Boat Bed and Pirates of the Caribbean Twin Trundle Bed Toy Chests Due to Entrapment and Strangulation Hazard.
![]() ![]() This recall involves two styles of Bayside youth beds: the LaJolla Boat Bed and the Pirates of the Caribbean Twin Trundle Bed. The preassembled toy chests are designed in the shape of a ship or boat’s “bow” and attached to the beds as a footboard. The LaJolla Boat Bed toy chest has a hardwood top and white wood base with a blue stripe. The Pirates Boat Bed toy chest has a hardwood top, wheel shape and brown wood base with decorative carvings. The toy chests were sold at Costco and furniture retail stores nationwide and Costco.com from January 2006 through May 2008 for between $700 and $1,400. The lid supports on the toy chests fail to prevent the lid from closing too quickly, posing an entrapment and strangulation hazard to your baby. CPSC received one report of a death involving a 22-month-old boy. He strangled when the lid of the toy chest fell on the back of his head and entrapped his neck on the edge of the chest of a LaJolla Boat Bed. The voluntarily recalled baby products consist of 9,350 units. Consumers should immediately stop children from using the recalled toy chests and contact the firm for instructions on receiving a free repair kit with replacement lid supports. 01 July 2008, Rashti & Rashti Recalls Taggies™ Sleep ’n Play Infant Garments Due to Choking Hazard.
![]() The infant garments involved in the recall are one piece footed coveralls with snaps down the front. These garments were sold in sizes 0-3 months, 3-6 months, and 6-9 months. RN #27829 is printed on the care label sewn into the garment. Style numbers are printed on the hangtag of the garments. The recall involves infant garments sold in purple with the following style numbers: T21301H - Butterfly Applique Sleep'n Play (0-3M) , T21302H - Butterfly Applique Sleep'n Play (3-6M), T21301H - Butterfly Applique Sleep'n Play (6-9M). And infant garments sold in blue and white with the following style numbers: T20816H - Fun Dog Print Sleep'n Play (0-3M), T20817H - Fun Dog Print Sleep'n Play (3-6M), T20818H - Fun Dog Print Sleep'n Play (6-9M) The garments were sold at Buy Buy Baby, Dillards, Nordstrom, and other specialty stores and Internet retailers nationwide from June 2007 through May 2008 for about $20. The snaps on these garments can detach, posing a choking hazard to your baby. No incidents have been reported. The voluntarily recalled baby products consist of 6,200 units. 26 June 2008, Stanley Furniture Recalls 2nd Nature Built to Grow Cribs Due to Entrapment Hazard.
This recall involves the full size 2nd Nature Built to Grow cribs, model number 353-14-220. Model and serial numbers are located on the headboard. The crib is natural maple in color.
Only the following serial numbers are included in the recall: 353-14-220-L-01, 353-14-220-L-02, 353-14-220-L-03, 353-14-220-L-04, 353-14-220-L-05, 353-14-220-L-06, 353-14-220-L-07, 353-14-220-L-08, 353-14-220-L-101, and 353-14-220-L-103. The recall does not include cribs sold after December 2007. These cribs were sold at department and furniture stores from March 2006 through December 2007 for about $1,100. The cribs could fail to meet a federal safety standard for crib dimensions. When the mattress support is in the middle setting, the space between the mattress and the crib could be wider than two finger widths. This poses an entrapment hazard to your baby. CPSC and the firm have received no reports of incidents or injuries. The voluntarily recalled baby products consist of about 1,200 units. Consumers should immediately stop using the crib in the middle mattress setting, and adjust it to the low or high setting. 24 June 2008, Jardine Enterprises Recalls Jardine Cribs Due to Entrapment And Strangulation Hazard.

Model numbers BC-23, BC-36B, BC-36G, BC-36P, BC-007, BC-010, BC-010C, BC-010HP, BC-010W, BC-017, BC-107C, BC-107CR, BC-110C, BC-110HP, BC-110W, DA617BC, DA620BC, DA770BC, DV730N, DV730W, DV830-N, DV830-W, 0113B00, 0113K00, 0303B00, 0303C00, 0303G00, 0309K00. The model number is located on the bottom rail of the headboard or footboard. The crib was sold at KidsWorld, Geoffrey Stores, Toys “R” Us, and Babies “R” Us stores nationwide, and at babiesrus.com, from January 2002 through May 2008 for between $150 and $300, with one model, 0309K00 Mahogany Positano Lifetime Crib, which sold for $450. The wooden crib slats and spindles can break, creating a gap, which can pose an entrapment and strangulation hazard to your baby. There have been 42 incidents of crib slats and spindles breaking. Four children became entrapped in the space created by a broken slat or spindle. Two of the children had abrasions and bruising. The voluntarily recalled baby products consist of about 320,000 units. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled cribs and contact Jardine to receive a full credit toward the purchase of a new crib. 05 June 2008, Bassettbaby Recalls Wendy Bellissimo Hidden Hills Collection Cribs Due to Entrapment Hazard.
This recall involves a full-size crib from the Wendy Bellissimo Hidden Hills collection, model number 5446-0521. The model number is located on the bottom rail of the headboard. The crib was sold in a Navajo Pine finish.
The crib was sold exclusively by Babies "R" Us stores nationwide from November 2007 through February 2008 for about $500. The space between the spindles on some cribs can fail to meet federal standards and can pose an entrapment hazard to infants. CPSC and the firm have received no reports of incidents or injuries. The voluntarily recalled baby products consist of about 550 units. Consumers should stop using the crib immediately and contact Bassettbaby to schedule an in-home inspection of the crib. 05 June 2008, Simmons Kids Recalls Simmons Kids Crib Mattresses Due to Entrapment Hazard
The recalled mattresses involve open coil crib mattresses manufactured between July 1, 2006 and March 23, 2008 with a color label attached to the top or side of the mattress that has the following model names:
Pocketed Coils® and Simmons Kids or Simmons Juvenile Products crib mattresses manufactured before July 1, 2006 or after March 23, 2008 are not included in the recall. The mattresses were sold by Pottery Barn Kids and nursery furniture retailers from July 2006 through May 2008 for between $100 and $150. Some of the crib mattresses can measure smaller than the 27 1/4 inch minimum width requirement for cribs, creating a gap between the mattress and crib side rails, posing an entrapment hazard to infants. Simmons Kids and CPSC have received one report of a 6-month old baby becoming wedged between the mattress and crib’s frame. The baby was removed from the crib by the parent without injury. The voluntarily recalled baby products consist of about 20,000 units. Consumers should measure the width of their mattress using a reliable measuring device, such as a yard stick or tape measure, by removing all outer coverings, placing the mattress on the floor and measuring the width near the middle, from the outside edge of the tape binding to the opposite side of the mattress. Consumers should immediately stop using the mattress if it measures less than 27 1/4 inches and contact Simmons Kids to receive a free replacement mattress. The Little Tikes brand Chit ‘N Chat Toy Cell Phone resembles a flip-phone style cell phone and has a 10-key numeric button pad and three buttons with pictures of animals. All of the buttons make a sound when pressed.
The toy phones are multi-colored and have a sticker on the back with model number KSL4010 (sold separately) or KSL8032, KSL8033, or KSL8051 (sold with other items). “Designed and Licensed by Kids Station Toys International Ltd.” is printed on the back of the toy phones. Toy phones with a screw visible on the hinge cover are not subject to the recall. The hinge cover on the toy cell phone can detach from the phone, posing a choking hazard to young children. CPSC and the firm have received three reports of the toy breaking, including one report of a child beginning to choke on a small part. The voluntarily recalled baby products consist of about 1 million units. Consumers should take these toy phones away from young children immediately and contact the firm for instructions on obtaining a free replacement. 20 May 2008, Douglas Co. Recalls Lil’ Snugglers™ Children’s Blankets Due to Strangulation Hazard
The recalled Lil’ Snugglers™ Children’s Blankets are 14 inches square with an animal head sewn in the middle. The satin border around the outside edge is about one inch wide. Only blankets with a P.O. number of 1330 or below are included in this recall. The blanket’s satin edge can come loose, posing a strangulation hazard. The firm has 18 reports of the satin separating from the blanket. No injuries have been reported. The voluntarily recalled baby products consist of 74,000 units. Consumers should take the blankets away from children immediately and return them to Douglas for a free replacement blanket or credit toward another item of equal value. 20 May 2008, Master Toys & Novelties Inc. Recalls Little Rider Toys Due to Violation of Lead Paint Standard
The recalled Little Rider Toys include a battery operated cowboy riding a horse. The model number 8610B is located on the product packaging. The horse and rider together measure about 8.5 inches in height by 7.5 inches in length. The rider is wearing blue pants and a red shirt and the horse is brown.
Only Little Rider Toys with UPC code 603678086101 printed on the product packaging are included in the recall. Surface paint on the shoe and pants of the rider toy contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard. No incidents have been reported. The voluntarily recalled baby products consist of 6,000 units. Consumers should immediately take these recalled toys away from children and return them to the store where purchased for a full refund. 15 May 2008, Manhattan Group Recalls Tumble Tower Infant Rattles Due to Choking Hazard
The recalled Manhattan Toy™ baby rattle is 5 inches long and made of clear plastic with blue end cap pieces. The two clear handles feature colorful beads inside and brightly colored rings on the outside. A blue face spins on a purple post inside the rattle center when it is turned.
The blue plastic end caps of the rattle can break, resulting in small parts, posing a choking hazard to young children. Manhattan Group has received two reports of the blue plastic end caps breaking. No injuries have been reported. The voluntarily recalled baby products consist of 7,000 units. Consumers should take the toys away from young children and return them to the store where purchased for a refund or contact Manhattan Group to exchange the rattles for another toy.
