Rain Forest Friends Nursery

I love the Rainforest friends collection from Fisher Price. My sister in law gave me a swing and I was inspired by the colorful animals and thought the baby would love the whimsical rainforest characters as much as I did.


What brand and color of paint did you use?
Acrylic paint purchased from Joann Fabrics for the animals and Behr for the green valley and Walmart brand for the sage green walls.


If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.
Nothing special just used pencil to free hand draw the animals no specific technique.


What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?
Lauren by Graco Convertable Crib in Expresso purchased from Babies R Us.


What brand of furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?
Lauren by Graco for crib and changing table Babies R Us. Glider purchased from walmart, dresser unknown. 15 inch Coby DVD/TV purchased from Best Buy.


What bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?
Animals of the Rainforest crib bedding available from Amazon.com.


Tell us about your window treatments, lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?
Window treatments, diaper stacker, mobile are part of the Animals of the Rainforest collection.

The lamp is the Cocalo Jingle Jungle Lamp.

Hanging rainforest friends growth chart was made by my friend Kathy from stitched felt.

Erin Letters were purchased from Babies R Us. I painted them and purchased decorative stickers from Joann Fabrics to add the final touches.

Diaper buggy was made by my sister Casey for my shower. She also made the Erin hanging picture frame.

How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?
Took me total about 5 months. It was so much fun and such a joy to create something unique for my little girl. She is due 5-25-11


Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?
I designed the nursery, painted the entire mural. My sister's and my hubby put the furniture together.


What do you love most about your little one's finished room?
The wall mural. I was very pleased with how it turned out.
