Pooh Bear Nursery

The inspiration for our Pooh Bear nursery came from friends and family. The more gifts we received the more we realized that Pooh seemed to be a common factor. So we decided to go with it!

What brand and color of paint did you use?

It is a special color of green that we had created at Home Depot from his Pooh diaper bag. The yellow is called Pooh Yellow also found at Home Depot.

If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.

We used painting tape to do the design on the wall with the green and we ordered pooh wall decals from Japan via EBay. We used stencils we found at Hobby Lobby for his name and our hands along with our dog Cici's paw to do handprints on the side wall.

What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?

The crib is Grace 4-in-1 crib, changing table from Wal-Mart.

What brand of furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?

The Sofa chair is Ashley and we purchased it from Rent-a-Center a while back. It just happened to fit the color scheme. The changing table came with the crib as a set from Wal-Mart.

What bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?

His beautiful crib set is the Disney Winnie the Pooh up & Away 4 pc. Set. The blues and greens attracted us.

Tell us about your window treatments, lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did

you buy them - were any handmade?

We were going to do valances, however we had a hard time finding some in the color we wanted so we did the shorter curtains from Target. The Pooh rug we found on Amazon.com.

How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?

Some of his things are stored under his changing table but most are in his closet.

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, and difficult? What was your favorite part?

It was a fun project that we started in November 2011 and completed slowly piece by piece in Feb 2012. My favorite part was when we placed the last item in place...his rug because it was complete. The only thing missing is our little man.

Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?

My husband and I did all the decorating, painting, and organizing of his room. I did seek advice from our mothers but only our hands worked on his room.

What do you love most about your little one's finished room?

I love the fact that me and my husband worked together to do something special for him. That we got to put our time and love into doing something that we have waited to do for so long and that every time I walk past his room I get so excited because it makes real that we are going to be parents soon.
