Pirate Theme Nursery

Treasure Map
My love of pirates inspired my pirate nursery theme for my son-to-be. First, I chose the accent colors of orange, chocolate and pistachio green for the stripes around the top of the room, and there was a LOT of taping in preparation for the stripes!! The rest of the nursery was designed around these 3 colors, the biggest piece being the mural of the treasure map!  The crib from pottery barn has dark chocolate drawers along the bottom, and the bedding features light green and brown. I picked out a nautical themed lamp and musical mobile as well.  The mural was painted by hand. First, it was sketched on paper and then a transparency was created and projected onto the wall using an overhead projector. The mural took 3 sittings about 4 hours each. It was a combined effort and painted by 2 close friends of mine. A bright orange glider from Monte Design ties the room together nicely, and this room turned out to be a very chic pirate themed room! I absolutely LOVE it!!
