Pink and Grey Nursery Room

My inspiration for my baby's nursery room was the beautiful pale colors in the nursery galleries on restoration hardware baby and child website. I knew I wanted the room to have light pale hues, and keep it simple but chic.

We used Lowe's Valspar paint - initially started with color 4007-3A Ghost Ship but decided that was too blue and went a little grayer. We added the chair rail and molding to give the room some dimension and elegance.

Personally I love damask patterns and swirls, but thought wallpaper may be a little too expensive and more time consuming (as well as more of a hassle to switch later on); therefore, I decided to go with a Stencil for the accent wall from a website called cutting edge stencils. I think it turned out great! I also incorporated pattern by using a beautiful damask pattern glider chair (Little Castle Swivel Glider - The Linen Bordeaux Collection) from Target.

The crib/dresser (style Disney Princess Enchanted Convertible) was a great find on Craigslist, it was brand new for half the original cost! but Babies-r-us has it too. And the shabby/chic night stand I also found on Craigslist for a very low cost.

For the bedding set, I fell in love with the Fairytale Princess Baby Crib Bedding by Petit Tresor - and although it was a bit pricey, I thought it matched my patterns and colors perfectly - so I could not resist and bought the entire set. It included bed set, bumper, skirt, wall decals, valance, musical mobile, lamps and picture frames.

The window treatments were very inexpensive, simple sheer pink and white drapes and I found the rug on Craigslist for a fraction of of the original cost (Pottery Barn rug).

The chandelier I bought from Kohl's, but babies-r-us also has it available (Tadpoles 4-bulb chandelier). The cute bench I found at Ross in black and just painted it white and added mini pillows I found at a Hallmark store.

This project was so much fun, I love shopping at antiques stores and looking at online photos for inspiration. I could not have done any of it without the help of my husband who did mostly everything! I had the ideas and he made them a reality.

The best part was knowing that in the end, our little one will enjoy her room and we just can't wait to have her in our arms in her own little princess room!
