This was very much my own idea at least for the color pattern. A friend of ours had vertical stripes which made me believe I could do it, although they had someone come in to do theirs, I did it myself.
We used Behr Paint for the Chocolate and Gray Colors and Martha Stewart for the Pink.
I won't give away my secrets but as you can see my stripes are very perfect! Not only in the spacing but in the lines as well. Its almost as if I used a laser to paint the lines as not a single drop has bled into any other color on either side of my stripes. I owe it all to my father in law who has been painting for over 30 years and taught me a lot of what he knows and with this project I was able to teach him something new.
All of our furniture was purchased from cribs.com and we chose the Babyletto Mercer Collection, except for the glider and ottoman which was purchased from babies r us and the chocolate leather trunk/bench which was found at TJ Max.
We have several different Bedding sets but the one in the picture is Probably from either Target or Babies R Us.
We bought new white wood blinds to match the white accents in her room and got a chocolate shag rug for softness.
Everything is stored in Drawers in her furniture or in the closet on shelves.
The Painting alone took 3 days (1 for each color) and 27 hours in time. It was very fun but very tedious at the same time. I loved doing it because I knew it was only going to happen once so I might as well put in the effort. The rest of the room decor was slowly worked on over a period of a couple months as it took a while to find the things we really wanted. My favorite part are the quotations around the room just to let her know how special she is everyday.
My wife and I did everything in the nursery ourselves and would not have done it any other way. We liked putting in the hard work to get it to what it is.
I like the serenity, the modern style and the stunning visual effects of the room. We know it will be very stimulating to our Baby girl.
