Pink and Brown Nursery

We saw a picture of Trista's (from The Bachelorette) nursery featuring striped walls and I adored the Restoration Hardware Baby & Child's bedding sets.

Our goal was a modern feel with vintage touches--how'd we do?

We painted the nursery with Benjamin Moore Natura: Ribbon Pink, Lychee (cream), and French Press (chocolate). My husband spent 40 hours just painting the nursery! First he painted the whole room a base of cream. Then he used a laser-level and painter's tape to outline 6" stripes on three walls which he painted chocolate. Finally he painted the fourth wall (where the crib is) pink.

We bought the Restoration Hardware Baby & Child Marlowe Collection Furniture. The glider/recliner is by Best, bought at USA Baby. The bookshelf is from target. The closet dresser is Ikea.

We added Restoration (see the trend?): European dot matelasse bumper & italian contrast stripe crib sheet bedding set. The throw on the crib is also from Restoration Hardware. My mother-in-law made the bedskirt.

The window treatments, chandelier and round frames are from Restoration Hardware. The vintage Barbie prints are from Pottery Barn Baby. The floor lamp is from Pottery Barn. My mother-in-law made the "A" pillow.

We stored all the baby goodies in the closet, bookshelf, and basket but I think she'll need a bigger closet than I do!

All in the painting, crib and bookshelf put-together, and decorating took about 70hours. Well worth it (easy for me to say because I didn't lift a paint brush!). The stripes are my favorite part and my husband is beaming with pride-of-work.

My father-in-law helped my husband with the chandelier but otherwise, we did it entirely ourselves which, while laborious, makes it more enjoyable and a better story for our daughter.

I love that the baby room for our daughter is a labor-of-love!
