Owl And Butterflies Nursery
by Candice Titus
Owl And Butterflies Nursery
I wanted to create a colorful but calming nursery with butterflies and owls, and I wanted to keep the original mossy mint paint color of the room. The Nojo Beautiful Butterfly bedding set provided most of the inspiration for our owls and butterflies nursery. The bedding had both butterflies and a hint of green! I used two Beautiful Butterfly window treatments, and suspended crocheted butterflies and beads from them with a safety pin and fishing line. I happily decided to make nearly everything else - including a crocheted diaper stacker, 4-piece butterfly and owl painting, decoupaged night light, felt owl, butterfly, and block toys, pillows and painted butterfly wall hooks that I found at Michaels. How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves? I purchased a few baskets from Michaels, and a long ottoman from Amazon.com that provided not only storage space, but room for visitors to sit in the nursery. How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part? The nursery came together over a few months. I love to plan craft projects, and I enjoyed taking my time to create hand made decor for the baby to enjoy. Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do? The husband assembled all the furniture, and provided his honest critique of all the little elements that I incorporated into the room. What do you love most about your little one's finished room? It's a tie between my owl and butterfly painting and the crocheted butterflies that are hanging from the window valence.
