New York Yankees Rangers Nursery

My favorite sports teams inspired me to decorate my sons nursery with a New York Yankees and Rangers theme.


What brand and color of paint did you use?
Glidden Team Colors from Home Depot.


If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.

For the checker board wall I painted the entire wall in the Glidden Yankee Gray first. I then measured and taped off the lines. Then I painted the white, red, and navy blue using the Glidden Yankee Team Colors.

For the Pinstriped wall I first painted the entire wall white. I then taped off the wall leaving only the areas that would become the pinstripes exposed. I painted the exposed areas white again to get a good seal over the tape to prevent the paint from bleeding. Once dry I painted the exposed areas Navy Blue to get crisp pinstripes.


What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?

Davinci 4 in 1 crib from amazon.


What brand of nursery furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?

Not sure of the name brand of the Changing table and glider as we bought this for our first child and are now using it for our third but we bought it from Target.


What nursery bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?

Purchased the New York Yankees bedding from Ebay.


Tell us about your window treatments, nursery lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?

The accessories on the shelves were all purchased from various places online. I did all painting by myself. The "JAMES" letters on the pinstriped wall were purchased from Michael's and I painted them Navy Blue.

I found a clip art of the father and son baseball picture and had a local photo business put it on canvas and had them add the baseball field background.


How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?

Baby goodies stored on shelves, in drawers, and closet.


How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?

It took me about 2.5 days due to the multiple coats of paint that needed to dry. It was very fun! My favorite part is a tie between the checker board wall and the pinstripes!


Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?

I did it all on my own from start to finish.


What do you love most about your little one's finished baby room?

Everything!
