My Modern Zigzag Nursery

On Pinterest I saw a picture with a grey and white chevron wall and I knew I had to do it in my next nursery. Combining the dandelions was my idea.


What brand and color of paint did you use?

Behr paint Gentle rain(Grey) snowfall(white) Berry (pink) rustoleum spray paint


If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.

Chevron wall: I measured with a yard stick and a level every 7.5 inches and marked it. Then taped it and painted.


What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?

It was a hand me down from my son. It was dark wood - my mom painted it white for me.


What brand of nursery furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?

All hand me downs.


What nursery bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?

Nurseryworks sea holly rose. I found it on Craigslist.


Tell us about your window treatments, nursery lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?

I made the roman shades with mini blinds and fabric. I also sewed the pink curtains. The chevron valance was bought off amazon.com. It goes with another nursery set.


How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?

Mostly in the dresser and closet.


How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?

It took us about a week. I love designing so it was fun. I enjoyed making the handmade things like the modern art (toilet paper roll art) and making some of the hanging fabric balls mixed in with the lanterns.


Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?

I designed it myself. My husband and mom helped paint. my mom painted the crib and dresser for me. I made the slip cover for the changing table and chair. I also made the window coverings and the modern art.


What do you love most about your little one's finished baby room?

It turned out exactly how I pictured it in my head!
