Monkeying Around Nursery

Our Monkeying Around Nursery was inspired by a painting Daddy and Mommy made together while waiting for our two little monkeys to arrive.


What brand and color of paint did you use?

Acrylic paint and water colors were used for the mural. We used warm colors, pastels, browns, pinks and baby blues.


If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.

The painting was done free hand by Daddy and colored in by Mommy. The mural has mountains, flowers, a flowing river with a tree as the focal point of the painting. We added stickers of a monkey and a cow that came with the bedding set. The roof was also painted to mimic the sky, with the clouds as shapes of different animals and a sun in the center.

We also decorated a separate wall with stickers that match the nursery bedding set.


What bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?

Lola's bedding and Coco bedding sets with a baby animals theme from Baby's R Us.


How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?

The babies clothes are in two separate dressers and also hung in the closet.


How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?

It was an amazing experience coming up with ideas for the nursery. It was a lot work, but fun! Our favorite part was knowing our babies would arrive soon to enjoy it as much as we have. It made the nine months go by super fast!


Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?

No help. Just Mommy and Daddy.


What do you love most about your little one's finished room?

To know our two beautiful girls will be able to enjoy their first gift from Mommy and Daddy for years to come.
