Monkey Safari Nursery

I loved monkeys growing up as a kid. I used to paint in my past and thought it was time to take it up again. I was inspired by my baby's bedding to paint some of the animals on her wall.


What brand and color of paint did you use?

I used Behr primer and paint in one. The color is light green and dark brown


If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.

I hand painted a scroll tree with a monkey hanging, with her nick name drawn on her wall. I also hand painted a giraffe.


What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?

I bought the Delta 4 in 1 crib, from walmart online.


What bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?

Koala baby at babies r us.


Tell us about your window treatments, lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?

She has a stuffed monkey and giraffe in her room.


How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?

I was 6 months pregnant when I started, and finished just before she was born. It took me about 3 1/2 months, it was hard standing for that length in time with my arms and hands would go numb. It was a great accomplishment for me. I hope Isabelle loves her room. It was so much fun drawing and painting again.


Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?

I did everything myself, even though I had a lot of offers to help because I was pregnant.


What do you love most about your little one's finished room?

I love that she stares at her walls with enjoyment.
