My inspiration for a woodland creature themed nursery came from spending lots of time looking at Pinterest nursery pins. My first purchase was my custom made bedding off of Etsy, which in turn inspired the colors and overall design of my little boy's room.

What brand and color of paint did you use?

We used Valspar Signature paint. The 3 main walls are painted in a fun blue named "La Fonda Mirage." The back wall is painted "A Twist of Lime."

What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?

Our crib is a white Graco crib from Target.

What brand of nursery furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?

I loved the idea of having a real bedroom suite that could grow with our little guy. I was also inspired by Pinterest to use a dresser as the changing table, which would be more useful for a longer period of time compared to a traditional changing table.

The bedroom suite we ended up buying from a friend (it was her bedroom suite as a child!) was about 30 years old. We paid $100 for it and the soon-to-be grandparents refinished it beautifully!

The dresser, chest of drawer, and end table are painted "wet pavement" and the tops are all painted white. The recliner was purchased at a local furniture store, brand unknown. The book shelf is Circo brand, purchased from Target.

What nursery bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?

The nursery bedding was purchased off etsy.com. The seller had a beautiful collection of coordinating fabrics which I was able to personally select from, choosing which fabric I wanted for the sheet, crib skirt, quilt, and changing pad cover.

Tell us about your window treatments, nursery lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?

The windows treatments include faux wood plantation blinds and curtains purchased from Lowe's.

The lamps are simple silver based lamps with green shades from Target.

The multi-colored striped rug was

purchased at Pier 1.

The log on the wall, was a fallen branch, found outside of our house. We cut it, sanded it and stained it to help bring in a little of the true outdoors into the woodland creature nursery.

The owl on the log, I painted to match the owl in the bedding, in addition to hand making the mobile.

My sister made the name banner hanging from the log.

The painted ceramic mushrooms seen thoughout the room were painted by my mom.

The craft supplies were all purchased at Michael's craft supply store, with the exception of the animals hanging from the mobile which are Christmas ornaments purchased at a Christmas shop.

The prayer and alphabet art (a baby gift from a friend) was purchased off etsy.com.

The remaining accessories (shelves, frames, clock, baskets, etc) were purchased at Target.

How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?

His sleepers and onesies are in the dresser drawers, organized by size. His clothes are hanging in the closet. Baby goodies are organized in baskets placed thoughout the room, in addition to the shelves in his closet.

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?

The whole decorating process took about 7 weeks. It was lots of fun!! I had envisioned it for a long time and think it came together beautifully.

My favorite part was all the family involvement. I love looking around the room and knowing that me, my husband, my sister, all the grandparents, and many friends are all represented and took a part in lovingly decorating his room.

Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?

Lots of help from my crafty family! Read above!

What do you love most about your little one's finished baby room?

I love the wall accessories!! I also love looking around and being reminded of friends and/or family members, thanks to their decorating help.
