Modern Unisex Baby Nursery

The W Hotel in San Francisco had decorated their lounge in a bright neon green and dark chocolate brown. We weren't finding out the sex of the baby and I wanted something different then neutral browns or orange or yellow. I thought a bright/neon green was very bright and unique for a baby nursery.

We painted with Benjamin Moore Paint and it was a bright neon green and dark espresso brown.

I bought the monogram stickers from www.quotethewalls.com and ordered them in the largest font they had. The stickers went on very easily and it was only $25 for the custom monogram set.

We bought our crib from Goores and it was a creations bed. I thought it was worth the money because it converts to both a toddler and full size bed, so it can be used for many years to come. We chose the sleigh bed.

Our baby rocker/glider was purchased from target and the dresser and crib are part of the creations collection purchased from Goores.

I had my bedding custom made because I couldn't find anything in the color scheme I had chosen. The quality is superb but I admit if I had to do it all over again, I would have just chosen a solid dark brown and white set as I think it was a little pricey.

I didn't do any window treatments or rugs. I did buy a dark brown shelf at Target where I put a 5X7 picture frame and a sterling silver rattle. I bought

a lamp that had shelves on it which was nice for putting decorative items on it.

I had a large basket purchased from Pottery Barn Kids and I rolled up the blankets and tied them with ribbons and put them in the large basket. I really like how easy it was to grab one when I needed it. I used my dresser as a changing table to save room and money. I put a small basket on the top with diapers and wipes in it. It made it feel more organized and it was easily accessible to get items when I needed them.

It took about a week from start to finish as I did small things each day. I loved doing the last minute touches and would sit in the glider and just look around. It is by far the best room in the house.

We hired a painter to do the painting as I wasn't feeling much up to doing it and my husband isn't quite the handy man! Other than that my husband and I did the nursery together.

What I love most about my little one's finished room is the color scheme for sure. I loved how rich the colors were and the crib. I would highly recommend a convertible crib to any new parents. My son is now 2 years old and it still looks brand new. he is using it as the toddler bed but will soon be getting a mattress to convert to the full size bed.
