Modern Geometric Shape Nursery

The inspiration for my Modern Geometric Shape Nursery came from the the bedding set I found online and fell in love with. I loved the calming relaxing colors. I am not too much into themes so I wanted something beautiful that he could grow into in years to come as well.

What brand and color of paint did you use?
Behr Paint Color and Primer in one.

The squares were painted in "Satin Aging Barrel", "Satin Cafe Cream" & "Satin Collectible" the remaining walls were painted in "Satin Plateau"

If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.
I decided on 3 separate colors for the squares and a 4th color for the remaining walls. My husband measured the accent wall and divided up equal squares on that wall with painters tape. He painted each square in a pattern.

What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?
Delta Crib and furniture from Babies R Us

What brand of furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?
Delta Furniture from Babies R Us. We purchased the nursing chair from Babies R Us as well and bought a wood toy box from Toys R Us. We painted it black to match the furniture. We were able to find a small wooden table at a Thrift store to display next to the nursing chair for night time feedings. My husband took that table, sanded it down and painted it black as well to match the rest of the room.

What bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?
Glenna Jean "Flashback bedding" Nursery Set purchased online.

Tell us about your window treatments, lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?
I purchased

the window treatment along with the bedding to match the set. We were able to purchase the wooden blocks for the wall at Target. Rug, Pillow for nursing chair and nursing blanket along with small artificial plants from IKEA. The Lantern Lighting was also purchased at IKEA as well as the lamp displayed on the dresser. Picture frames displayed were given as gifts during the pregnancy.

How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?
Everything has a place. He has a roomy organized closet with shelves, a toy box and a changing table dresser that has a shelves inside the cabinets. All clutter is organized and tucked away nicely behind doors.

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?
It took about a month to complete. My husband had to sand and stain the wood floors as well. It was fun to design but my husband did all the work himself. I just pointed him the right direction. My favorite part was receiving the bedding in the mail and winding up the mobile for the very first time. I cried as I imagined him laying in the crib underneath the mobile.

Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?
My husband did everything himself.

What do you love most about your little one's finished room?
It's calming, soothing and not dressed in a theme. The colors will remain that way as he grows and we can incorporate the design as well as the lifetime furniture through every stage of his life. From Gradeschool to Highschool as well as visits home from college this room can be transformed again and again by just changing accessories.
