Modern Boys Baby Room

I like to decorate in my own home and decided to go all out for my baby boy's room. It is a small room and we needed to create more storage, include a twin bed for guests and for when he grows out of his crib, plus we wanted to keep it fun!

We built DIY built-in book shelves on either side of the window, painted bold stripes on the old, worn, wood floor, painted the walls white and added grey trim at the ceiling, added lots of color with fabrics, though keeping a lot of the basics white for contrast.

We found tons of cute accents and created a gallery wall using family photos and other kid-art elements, plus a great baby mobile with blow-up globes and circle streamers made from paint chips!

My husband and I did the building ourselves. A friend and I did all the prepping and painting on the floors and I painted the walls and put up all the trim myself. I sewed all the pillows , curtains and crib skirt. My mom and I slip-covered the glider. And I did all this for under $1000 in under 2 months when I was 7-9 months pregnant!

Love this room, I like the fact that you worked with what you had and made the theme follow through without being over top cute, this room would be fine until the baby is at least 5 without having to change much ( except maybe eliminating the crib). Very well done.
