My nursery design was inspired by a fabric swatch that I saw on Pinterest that got me going!
What brand and color of paint did you use?
"Passionfruit Punch" and "Old Map" by Behr
If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.
We added triangles to the wall. The wall was painted in "Old Map" then my husband taped off the whole accent wall into the design we wanted and painted every other triangle white. We threw in a couple of the coral triangles too to make it pop.
What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?
"Baby Mod Marley" purchased at Walmart
What brand of nursery furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?
We bought our rocker at Walmart also and it is called "Fine Mod Vac". We bought an old crummy formica dresser at a storage garage sale and had it painted by a lady we know. The side table is from Amazon by "Dar".
What nursery bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?
We are just using a sheet at this point. We aren't going to do a whole bedding set until she is older. The sheet and changing pad cover was handmade by a girl on Etsy.com in the fabric that inspired on the whole nursery! Her shop is called "Babiease".
Tell us about your window treatments, nursery lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?
The blinds are Faux wood blinds, we have a small chandelier as the ceiling light and a galaxy style mercury glass lamp from Ikea, the rug is a plush shag rug purchased off Amazon and the decor and prints were either handmade by us, someone
on Etsy or a gift. The bookshelf was an old bar shelf that I found at an antique mall and we made the mountains out of some left over wood! The "Hello Baby" light up sign was made from scratch as a gift from my sister and brother in law!
How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?
Our closet is organized with cute baskets from Homegoods, the books are stored on the old bar shelf and all of the diaper supplies are in the dresser drawer under the changing pad.
How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?
My vision started around 12 weeks of pregnancy after we found out it was a girl. We had the dresser made at that point and my husband painted the nursery and the accent wall early on too. We started with a completely empty room the evening of my babyshower (at 34 weeks) and with the help of my sister, brother in law, husband and myself, it only took a few hours to design, decorate and set up the entire nursery! It was super fun, easy going and exciting! My favorite part was watching my vision that made absolutely no sense on paper all come together!
Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?
It was myself, my husband, my sister and my brother in law! They helped us organize the insane amount of gifts we received first followed by helping us put the whole nursery together!
What do you love most about your little one's finished baby room?
I love that it is whimsically simple yet I could look at the details for hours!
