Knights and Castles Baby Nursery

Our baby is named after his daddy (Tristan) whose name is derived from a knight at King Arthur's round table, so we decided to do a Knights and Castles baby nursery theme.

What brand and color of paint did you use?
We used two paints - both are Martha Stewart metallic collection (tiger eye for the ceiling and tin for the walls).

What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?
We bought our crib for $60 - it is gently used.

What brand of furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?
Same with the furniture. Basically, we bought gently used furniture and then re-finished it/re-upholstered it.

What bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?
It is a custom made bedding set.

Tell us about your window treatments, lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?
Fan is from Lowes, most wall decor is from Hobby Lobby, some items we found are from Goodwill, the window treatments are custom made, the rug is Disney and one we already had (lol) - the knight was given to us by the godparents.

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?
It took around one month. We hired a friend to do the painting for us. The fan took 3 hours to put together...but, it was a lot of fun working as a hubby and wife team.

The changing table was painted 3 times and then we glued the crown on it, added new liners and found the baskets at Hobby Lobby. I think it turned out to be our favorite piece because it was old and ugly and turned into a masterpiece.

Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?
We did it all on our own minus the painting. I can't paint (fumes) and my hubby is horrible at painting...poor guy. lol.

What do you love most about your little one's finished room?
I love the changing table the most and I love his name above the crib...the knight standing guard...hmm...I love it ALL. Exactly what we wanted!

We have a designer nursery and spent probably 1/4 of what others do for a nursery to look the way ours does.
