Jungle Musical Twist Nursery

Mom liked the "Nojo Jungle Babies" bedding, Daddy has a strong love for music. Well, daddy wanted a music-themed baby room AFTER mom registered for the baby shower with the Nojo Jungle Babies bedding.

Dad really wanted a music theme, so mom told coworkers about it to get ideas on how to pull it off so that it was "Baby-friendly" and not adult looking. Well, mom wins the bid for nursery theme (jungle), but coworker had already gone to work making tons of musical notes for the room/work baby shower.

Coworker found out its definitely a jungle-themed baby shower and it broke her heart because she worked HOURS tracing/cutting out musical notes...

told coworker "NO PROBLEM, I'm going to use them because you took the time to make them!".

Now we have musical notes on baby's door and hanging from ceiling in the jungle-themed room, but it looks AWESOME.

Mom wanted cool decals to put on the walls but saw they were so pricey!

So, I made my own decals by drawing pics out on construction paper, painting them, cutting them out, and thumbtacking to the walls! They came out great (palm tree, giraffes, monkeys, tigers, and elephants!). I drew them based on the design of the bedding so they look similar and match.

People think they were bought in the store, but were made at home and only cost about $40-50 of supplies as opposed to hundreds for real giant

decals! AND I can take them down in a second because they're held up by thumbtacks!

Behr "Warm Glow"

What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?
Crib was donated by my nieces mother from when she was a baby (she's 11 now).

What brand of furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?
Glider chair was a shower gift from sister in-law.

What bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?
Nojo Jungle Babies bedding off my shower registry.

How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?
In the closet for clothes, toys were placed in a Radioflyer red wagon my mother got at a tag sale, and accessories are in shelves that hang over back of door.

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?
The decals took HOURS to make because it took quite a few layers of paint for that poster paper..but it was a blast!

Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?
Husband painted, put crib together.. I did everything else.

What do you love most about your little one's finished room?
The room is cute! has an original touch! is very visually stimulating! and has a unique story to it because of the "random" musical notes.
