We decided on the jungle animals nursery theme because it was green instead of blue. We really liked the animals that came with it. The bedding set was called jungle walk. However I find it so interesting that they have a giraffe and an elephant even though neither are in the jungle. We went with it anyway.

What brand and color of paint did you use?

We used Valspar paint olive green. Then a brown for the tree trunk with a light green for the leaves.

If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.

My boyfriend hand-painted the tree after searching some cartoon looking trees on Google. It took us almost 3 days to complete the tree but it looks so good it was worth it.

We purchased the name letters from Michael's craft shop then hand painted them with the Valspar accent wall olive green paint. Then we found some miniature wood pre-painted animals at Michael's and glued them to the letters.

What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?

Delta for the crib/changer combo. We bought this from Kmart.

What brand of furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?

We bought a delta toy box and delta kids table and chair. We bought both of those from Babies R Us.

The rocker is made by Baby Relax and we bought that at Wal-Mart.

What bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?

We started with the nursery bedding set called Jungle Walk by Kids Line. This included the quilt, 2 sheets, diaper stacker, window valance, 3 piece wall art, and a bed skirt.

Tell us about your window treatments, lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?

The window treatment came with the bedding set.

One

rug is a runner from Old Time Pottery with a tree and leaves on it while the other is a stuffed bear found at Sam's Club.

We got the framed wall art from Garden Ridge on clearance for $3. The other 3 round pieces of art were included with the bedding set.

We hung the diaper stacker on the wall with a kitchen towel bar we bought and never used.

The lamp we found at babies r us on clearance, it was from a different bedding set but it matched very well as it was made by the same brand (Kids Line).

Finally the stuffed animals are from various stores (goodwill, babies r us, Burlington coat factory, and toys r us).

How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?

We have a walk in closet for all the clothes and extras we are not currently using. The walk in closet has a stacked section then a section for hanging clothes.

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?

We worked on the room for about 3 months every other weekend. We would purchase things here and there after payday. I would read pregnancy books to him while he moved things, built things and painted. We enjoyed doing the room very much and it has brought us so close together just because of the laughing and talking and spending time together.

Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?

We planned and decorated all by ourselves. We are very pleased with the results.

What do you love most about your little one's finished room?

I think my favorite part is the nursing corner. My boyfriend's is probably the tree and the name on the wall!
