I wanted a nursery that felt very calm, sweet and peaceful. The room is very small so it needed to feel light. And because we didn't know the gender of our baby, it needed to be neutral. I was inspired by the artwork from the book I Want My Hat Back - I've always loved this book and the simple, yet beautiful artwork. We framed three prints from the book and then designed the room around the artwork.
What brand and color of paint did you use?
What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?
Fiona Crib from Pottery Barn.
What brand of nursery furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?
We purchased the chair and dresser (Lolly Changer Dresser) from Baby Grand. Because the dresser was white, we painted it a similar grey to the crib and added decorative knobs to give it a sweeter touch.
What nursery bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?
Liam the Flying Dog sheets by Aden & Anais. Purchased at Baby Grand.
Tell us about your window treatments, nursery lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?
Window treatments and rug from Target. Dresser animal knobs from Anthropologie. Stackable stuffed animals from Pottery barn. Handmade quilt from grandmother.
How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?
Built-in shelving to save space in small room, as well as toy bin from Baby Grand.
How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?
This was one of my favorite parts of my pregnancy. We did everything ourselves and it took about 4 months. So fun to see it all come together!
Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?
On our own - everything from painting the dresser to framing prints to picking out and replacing knobs.
What do you love most about your little one's finished baby room?
Feels very delicate and sweet, yet fun and vibrant. A perfect space to play or rock our daughter to sleep.
