I was inspired by old photos of Paris and hot air balloons. I wanted something that was gender neutral but whimsical. I found my bedding and mobile on Etsy and that started my process. It took me a total of three months to shop, paint, and apply decals to the walls.

What brand and color of paint did you use?

The paint brand is Diamond Vogel and the colors are;
Grey 0539a
Yellow 0833a

If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.

To add the Chevron pattern to the walls we painted the area yellow then layered painters tape in 12in strips in two rows 18in apart. We then painted the entire wall grey and then removed the tape revealing the the Chevron.

What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?

The crib and changing table are Stork Craft Vittoria in Cherry. They were both purchased through Target.

What brand of nursery furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?

The dresser is a family piece that my grandparents bought from Fred Meyer when they were married. My mom and husband stripped 30 years of paint off it and stained it Cherry to match the other furniture. The glider and ottoman are Stork Craft Hoop in Yellow Gingham and were purchased through Target. The child's chair is from Pottery Barn Kids, Vivian Floral Gray and Yellow personalized with Colette's name.

What nursery bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?

My bedding is Atelier Edele which is an all organic cotton company. The set was purchased through Etsy and included blanket, sheets, and pillow on glider. The crib skirt is Circo Single Pleated Chevron Crib Skirt, also additional crib sheet, in photos, is Circo 100% Cotton Chevron Fitted Crib Sheet Yellow both purchased through Target.

Tell us about your window treatments, nursery lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?

The vinyl decals on the walls are purchased through Amazon and are Hot Air Balloon Fabric Wall Decals in Yellow by Sunny Decals.

The two posters located on either side of the windows

are my inspiration pieces, they were purchased on Amazon. They are Cirque D'hiver Circus Performer Hot Air Balloon France French Europe 12" X 16" Image Size Vintage Poster Reproduction
by Heritage Posters and 8x11" inches poster "Le Ballon, Hot Air Balloon (French)".

Decor with unusual images sold by Variety Posters.

Set of 3 Metal Hot Air Balloon Wall Hooks by Things2Die4.

Flying the Skies Mobile Primary Colors 5 Hot Air Balloon Mobile and matching Hot Air Balloon Models in Yellow and Green with hand crafted baskets and hand woven netting by Authentic Models were purchased through Amazon.

Customized Colette canvas and paper lantern hot air balloons I made from idea books from Close to My Heart and Hobby Lobby. Supplies were also purchased through these companies.

Lamp is Dreamy Nights Lamp and Shade purchased through Target.

How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?

All Colette's toys are stored in the grey and yellow Chevron basket next to changing table and in the yellow, grey, and white cube located under the window. The rest of the baby supplies are stored in the changing table and dresser.

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?

The entire room took my around 3 months to complete. I needed to wait for paint to dry in order to apply the wall decals. The painting was the most challenging part or so I was told, it took my dad, brother, and husband 3 days to complete. It was a fun weekend and a great way to get my whole family involved and excited about the baby! My favorite part is sitting in the nursery in my glider and think about my little girl playing in her room.

What do you love most about your little one's finished baby room?

I love the arrangement of Hot Air Balloons above the closet. I like to sit in my glider and watch them move and you really get the effect that they are flying! I also think the wall decals came out great, they look like they are floating over the Chevron strips almost like they are mountains.
