Fun Dr. Seuss Baby Nursery

Our nursery was inspired by our love for Dr. Seuss and our want to share it with our son, Elijah in all it's glory.


What brand and color of paint did you use?
We used many brands of paint from our local Home Depot (4-7 coats on everything) and finished it by painting a clear coat over the whole thing.


If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.
We used a projector to pencil in the characters.


What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?
We bought a Madison crib from wal-mart.


What brand of furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?
We refinished an old rocking chair I've had for years and love very much, to match the new shelving we built. We also repainted and refurbished some bookshelves we picked up at garage sales.


What bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?
Handmade primary colored sheets, some with stripes, dots, shapes, etc.


Tell us about your window treatments, lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?
Covered the floor with primary exercise foam squares. Bought Dr. Seuss fixture and electrical covers on Ebay. Found One Fish Two fish light, clock, trashcan at our local Planet K. Found tons of Dr. Seuss plush characters online.


How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?
It was a slow process of about 2 months. Our favorite part was the finishing touches.


Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?
Many of our closest friends and family helped. It was amazing how everyone came together.


What do you love most about your little one's finished room?
I love that he loves it. He giggles and touches the walls. Extremely rewarding!
