Forest Owl Baby Nursery

After choosing a color scheme and finding his bedding set, we chose to do an owl/forest theme.

What brand and color of paint did you use?
Olympic Caracuo Blue and an ivory color.

If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.
We did a forest vinyl wall mural which we custom ordered off etsy.com.

What brand of crib and nursery furniture did you buy? Where from?
Amy Crib and Grace Changer from Samsclub.com

What bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?
DwellDesigns Studio Owl Sky Crib set available from Amazon.com.

Tell us about your window treatments, lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?
Window treatments are chocolate roman shades ordered from JCPenney. His ivory and tan rug we found at Lowes. I hand painted an owl canvas that's above his changing table. His owl clock was ordered from ebay.com. His owl mobile above his glider was handmade by my mother and I.

How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?
We organized all his goodies in canvas bins in a cube shelf. Bins are Martha Stewart from Home Depot in aqua, green, and chocolate.

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?
Probably around 3 months to finish it all. Hand making certain pieces was my favorite part...

Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?
I designed it all on my own but my husband and mom helped put it all together.

What do you love most about your little one's finished room?
I feel like it is a unique and one-of-a kind nursery. No other little baby will have a room as neat as his... It's also a reflection of something his mom and dad both love very much ( being outdoors, wildlife, etc. )

TIP: If painting or making your own tree seems a bit daunting, try an easy stick, removable tree wall decal. There are lots of beautiful ones available and they really brighten up the room!

What great baby nursery decoration. The trees give depth to the room and the colors are totally boy. You are an inspiration to young mothers who cam decorate their own nurseries to their own liking, using their imagination. Bravo.
