Fisher Price Rainforest Nursery

Our inspiration for our nursery was from the Fisher Price Rainforest Nursery Collection. We didn't want to know the sex of our first baby and so we needed something unisex. The "argyle" style was our idea because we didn't want something traditional or drawn on the walls.

We first drew the diamond out on a stencil and used that as a guide to tape off the orange area to be painted. We used Behr semi-gloss paint purchased at Home Depot.

Our furniture is a conversion Tyson crib with attached changing table and other matching pieces purchased from Kmart.

We are using the Fisher Price Rainforest Bedding Set. We still have to finish out window treatments at this time. The lighting was all installed by my husband in a drop ceiling. We have a ceiling hugging fan along with 4 recessed lights on a dimmer switch in case we wanted to use it as a night light when the baby gets older.

From start to finish the nursery took us quite a while because my husband "gutted" the whole room. He installed new drywall over the existing paneling. A new drop ceiling was fitted after installing additional insulation to the rafters. New carpet and padding was installed. My father in law helped my husband with the construction.

My favorite part was decorating and putting all the goodies we got from our baby shower in the room after it was completed. The part of the nursery I love most is the rocker.
