Ethan's Fishing Nursery Room

I will be a first time granny at the end of next month. We live in south Louisiana so my husband and son (father of baby Ethan) love to fish. We thought this would make a great theme for the nursery.


What brand and color of paint did you use?
We used sherwin williams paint. The blue is called jay blue and the red on the chair rail and window sills is positive red.


What brand of crib did you buy? Where from? Because Ethan will be here for visits and not living here, I chose to lean more towards a toddler room so only have a pack and play in the room along with a toddler bed.


What brand of furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?
I purchased the toddler bed at ababy.com. The hutch was actually a computer printer hutch from office depot that I painted to match the room.


What bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?
I chose the come sail away crib bedding from ababy.com.


Tell us about your window treatments, lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?
All the wall decor was purchased from hobby lobby, and the rug from ababy.com. The fishnets, fish and starfish were purchased from amazon.com


How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?
Baskets and drawers.


How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?
This was a very fun project. It took us 2 full weekends. My favorite part was the whole room because I know that my grandbaby will one day sleep and play there.


Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?
My husband and sister did the painting and my sister and I did the rest.


What do you love most about your little one's finished room?
I love the boat bed and the all around look of the room.
