Elegant Princess Nursery

My inspiration for this nursery came from wanting an elegant soft look for our baby girls room.


What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?

We used our sons crib, who is now 5 from Babies R Us. It was a Babi Italia in expresso. We refinished it with Lowes Valspar metallic paint.


What nursery bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?

The bedding was custom made by my mother. We live in the Houston Area and purchased the material from High Fashion Fabric downtown. All the material for the bedding cost around $600.


Tell us about your window treatments, nursery lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?

We found the curtains at Buy Buy baby and they matched the bedding perfectly. We purchased the chandelier from Home Depot. The rug we found at Tuesday morning for a great price!

The mirror we painted using Martha Stewarts paint from Home Depot.


How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?

We bought an organizer for the closet from Buy Buy Baby to help organize items.


How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?

It took a couple of weeks to pull it all together. It was a blast finding items to incorporate. We didn't have any problems finding pieces to add to the decor. My favorite part is the beautiful bedding that I cherish made by my mother. :)


Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?

It was a group effort! My husband and mother painted and as said before, my mother made the bedding.


What do you love most about your little one's finished baby room?

How elegant it turned out, exactly like I had envisioned!
