Eden's Dr. Seuss Nursery

I love the crazy, kooky characters, colors, and storylines of Dr. Seuss. His classic rhyming is fun for both adults and kids and it helps bring out creativity and imagination.

I used all different shades of acrylic paint.

I added wall murals. Each wall mural is a different Dr. Seuss book (Cat in the Hat, Horton Hears a Who, and One Fish Two Fish) I first drew out each scene by hand. I then transferred the drawings to a computer. Then, I borrowed a wall projector and projected the images on the walls. Lastly, I outlined the images in black paint.

I have a davinci Kalani crib I got as a gift and used Trend Lab's Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat crib bedding.

We also have a davinci changing table we ordered online from amazon I believe. As for the dresser, we used my husband's dresser from IKEA, sanded it, and painted it into a Seuss theme. I then added fun Dr. Seuss foam stickers on it.

As for the window treatments, the valance came with the bedding. I bought the decorations from all over the place sticking with the same primary color theme. Books, Seuss toys, and lighting (lampshade), cat in the hat shelf came from Seussland, Target, Babies r Us.

This was a somewhat tedious job, but extremely fun. I was able to piece different scenes/characters together from each book to create my murals. It took a full month from start to finish. The first 9 days were dedicated to outlining and painting the murals. I worked a total of 7-8 hours each day on them.

I did most of the nursery. I did have help from my husband and family members with the outlining and painting. I designed the nursery though. My husband set up the furniture and helped paint and sand the dresser.

I loved how "alive" everything seemed to look when finished. It was as kooky and whimsical as I expected it to be. All of the shapes and colors are exciting and fun. My daughter loves to look around at everything.
