I grew up loving the Dr. Seuss collection books. I was looking for a neutral nursery theme when I became pregnant the first time with a set of twins (boy and girl) who we sadly lost at about 6 months gestation. We got pregnant the following year and decided to keep the Dr. Seuss Inspired Nursery theme out of memory.

What brand and color of paint did you use?

We used Behr 2-in-1. We still needed about 3 coats of yellow.

If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.

We did stripes the good old fashioned way, painters tape. When we took the tape off, the lines were so messed up, we ended up making them squiggled. I'm glad it happened, it looks better!!

What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?

"The grandparents" purchased a crib from Babies R Us, I don't know what brand it was.

What brand of furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?

Again, "The grandparents" purchased everything, from Babies R Us.

What bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?

We could not find a bedding set that we were happy with. A friend of ours bought all of the fabric and made EVERYTHING herself!!

Tell us about your window treatments, lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?

The curtains were handmade by the person who made the crib set. There is a picture hanging that my sister cross stitched, she created the pattern! She

also made the "Seuss Inspired" bookshelf!!

All of the painted pictures were created, drawn, and painted by ME!!! There is also a memorial painted on the wall of a balloon release we did for the 1 year anniversary of losing our twins.

There is a CindyLou under the tree holding 2 balloons (signifying our now 7 month old daughter) and a few Whoo's holding hands and watching the balloons.

Its tearful, beautiful, and magical all at once.

How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?

We store all current clothing in the dressers, all unused clothing is sorted by sizes and stored in tubs or sealed bags.

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?

It took a while actually. The paintings obviously took the longest, but that was also the most fun part of doing the nursery. Also the mural.

Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?

My parents, sisters and a friend helped paint the room since I'm horrible at rolling. I did a lot of the striping because being 7-8 months pregnant, I just wanted to sit down.

What do you love most about your little one's finished room?

I love how original the room is, and the fact that 90% of it is hand made and NO ONE has anything else like it!
