Dr. Seuss Boy's Nursery

Who doesn't love Dr. Seuss and remember it fondly as a kid?! I thought it would be great to do, not too common of a nursery theme and yet something that will hopefully be loved by our kid for at least 5 years!

What brand and color of paint did you use?

The walls are painted with Dunn Edwards Greenhouse Glass.

If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.

All of the Dr. Seuss artwork on the walls was done by my husband who is an artist. He used acrylic paint and mixed the colors himself to get them as close to "Seuss" as possible.

What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?

I bought the Nursery 101 set from Target which included the crib, small dresser and changing table.

What brand of furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?

The tall dresser and the rocker/ottoman are Storkcraft brand and were purchased at Walmart. The 2 shelf bookcase was purchased at Staples.

What bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?

I bought a Cat in the Hat bedding set on Amazon.com. It is made by Trend Lab.

Tell us about your window treatments, lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?

The window valance, lamp, and mobile were all made by Trend Lab and purchased on Amazon.com. The quilt on the rocker is homemade by my Aunt. All artwork was done by my husband.

How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?

All things are currently stored in baskets that we got during our baby shower.

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?

Per my husband, all the artwork took a combined total of approx. 15 hours. The rest of the room took around 4-5 hours to completely put together. My favorite parts are the artwork and the completed room - can't believe how great it turned out.

Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?

My husband and I did the nursery ourselves.

What do you love most about your little one's finished room?

The way it makes me feel when I go in it - so happy!!!
