Cowboy Nursery Idea

My inspiration for my Cowboy nursery idea was my Texas roots. I've been in Georgia for 14 years now, but still have that Texas pride! - And I thought a Cowboy room would be cute for my little boy.

We got the idea for the cowboy with "Hayden" painted in a rope above it, from a wall hanging we saw in a magazine. The rest of it was created by my hubby and our creative friend, Randi.

My hubby used tape to paint all the lines & "boring" stuff, and Randi did all the free hand and creative painting. She would often draw out on paper what she was going to paint, then use that as a model for the free-hand painting on the wall.

The crib was my daughter's, the bedding is a Wendy Belissimo knock-off, and we had the rocking chair cushions custom made. I had very specific colors in mind and I wanted it to be unique. The rest of the furniture is from Babies R Us.

The lamp was hand painted by Randi as well, as a baby shower gift.

I was on bed rest the whole time, so I sat back and watched Randi and my hubby do all the work. She is a teacher, so I would grade her papers while she painted! I kept going into pre-term labor, sometimes while she was there, so she and hubby had to speed things up a bit. It took about 3 months or so to complete.

I stored the baby goodies in baskets on the changing table and on the closet shelves.

My favorite thing about the room is that everything is hand painted – I love it!
