Cherry Blossom Nursery

by Marie
(Fishers, IN )

Ever since I traveled to Japan for work, I have always loved cherry blossoms. I knew that if we ever became pregnant with a little girl that I would want to do her nursery with a cherry blossom theme. My inspiration started with a wall decal I found on Etsy.

What brand and color of paint did you use?

We used Valspar paint.

If you added stripes, polka dots or other paint effects, tell us how you did it.

We put up the wainscoting when I was pregnant with my son, so we just repainted the blue from his nursery a rosy/peach pink color for her nursery.

What brand of crib and furniture did you buy? Where from?

The crib and furniture is Simmons Kids Slumber Time brand from Target.

What nursery bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?

We only purchased the crib sheet from Buy Buy Baby. It is the Daniella line from Cocalo.

Tell us about your window treatments, nursery lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?

The window treatments and crib skirt are a sheer tiered material.

The rug is a white jersey knit shag rug from Bed, Bath & Beyond.

The lamp on the side table is from Ikea.

We hand painted her name as well as the bow holder frame that is handmade.

How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?

All of the storage will be in the dresser or on shelves in the closet.

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?

Once we moved our son out of the nursery into his new room, it took about a month to complete everything. We enjoyed buying each piece separately and watching our vision come together.

Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?

My husband and I did all the work ourselves.

What do you love most about your little one's finished baby room?

I love everything about it. Every piece is very unique and all works together well.
