Checks and Stripes Modern Nursery Idea

My Checks and Stripes Modern Nursery Idea uses checks and stripes to create a dramatic effect. We set up a bunch of little toys that overlook her crib on top of the wall here. I took the picture with a wide angle lens from in the hallway (The wall there is a 3/4 wall that doesn't go all the way to the ceiling.)

We got these prints before we even started trying to make babies. The prints are by www.imsmitten.com.

The art piece on the wall is from an antique show in Chicago - I love it!

I love this nursery design because everything about it is so different, from the color scheme to the carpet, everything stands out.

Who would have thought of using carpet squares to decorate a baby room? It works beautifully - what a great way to incorporate checks into your nursery theme. It's certainly much less work than painting.

Having said that Jake has done a great job with the paint brush too. Notice how the stripes in this baby room are not all the same width, neither are they evenly spaced. A very effective way to add interest to your nursery walls!
