Brooklyn's Pink and White Bungalow Nursery
The inspiration for Brooklyn's Pink and White Bungalow Nursery came from a bedding set I found. I looked through lots and lots of bedding ideas and found a designer set which was black and white for over $500. I knew it was what I wanted so I kept looking until I found something more affordable online. I eventually bought the Waverly Black and White set.
I knew I was having a girl and wanted to incorporate pink with the white and black. I wanted it to be very chic yet stimulating enough for a baby without a definite theme.
My best friend and husband painted the room in pale pink and white. We painted stripes on the main wall you see when you walk into the room. This is also the wall the crib is on so I thought the stripes would help to entertain Brooklyn. We measured how far we wanted the stripes to be apart and began taping and then painting! My husband did the trim work. I touched up the paint here and there.
We got the crib from my mom. It is a Graco Ashleigh 4-in-1 Convertible Crib. I chose Southshore furniture to go with it.
I knew I wanted a chandelier for Brooklyn's room and it was the first thing we purchased. Knowing that I wanted black and white bedding, I thought the black chandelier would complement it well along with the white walls. I made some wall art inspired by a piece I saw at Pottery Barn. It's a butterfly made of cut out circles and buttons sewn onto canvas. (You cannot see in this pic unfortunately).
The wooden piece my father made years ago and sent to me. I tied the diaper stacker to it and it works perfectly! I never really had the perfect place for it until now. I painted it white to go with the room. The black tie curtains are from Target and really bring out the bedding.
It took me about 2 months to finish the room. I didn't work on it every day, just when I had the time and after my husband and friend finished painting.
I love everything about it. It's a small room but probably my favorite in the entire house now. Everything just flows really well and fits perfectly together. I couldn't stop staring at it for a week!!
