Born to Sail Baby Nursery

Born to Sail Baby Nursery

I currently live and grew up on the gulf coast, on the water. I love everything about it! I knew I wanted a nautical room for my son, but I
didn't want to go overboard either!

What brand and color of paint did you use?
We used Valspar Blue Rain!

What brand of crib did you buy? Where from?
A Graco crib from Babies "R" Us.

What brand of furniture did you choose? Where did you buy it?
His changing table and dresser are both original Ethan Allen from my grandmother, that we sanded and painted white. And his rocking chair is Ikea, also sanded and painted.

What bedding set did you use? Where did you buy it?
We didn't use an actual "set" because... well, I don't know why.. We just alternate between white or navy sheets to keep it crisp looking.

Tell us about your window treatments, lighting, rugs, wall decor and accessories. Where did you buy them - were any handmade?
He has "sail cloth" curtains from Target, alternated in red & navy. His rug is also from Target. His "Born to Sail" plaque, lighthouse, and ship are from Burkes and his decal, we ordered from Etsy!

How did you store all your baby goodies? In baskets, on shelves?
We stored everything in his dresser, on shelves, and in the closet!

How long did it take you? Was it easy, fun, difficult? What was your favorite part?
It took us a little while to get everything set up, because it was a true DIY project... We even put the carpet down!! It was pretty fun, though!!

Did you do the entire nursery on your own or did someone help you? Who? What did they do?
My husband and I did it all!

What do you love most about your little one's finished room?
I love how fresh it looks! Nautical without being overkill!
