Living in Louisiana, we wanted to create a special place for our son that signified the life of living on a Louisiana bayou.

I purchased a wallpaper mural to create the lake. The cabin is a bunk bed. My husband and I added 1X4's and a roof to give it the appearance of a log cabin.

Beneath the bed is a living area which houses his library, a table and lamp, along with a plush bear rug. PETA need not worry, it's a fake bear.

The bed took a weekend to build and the wallpaper mural a couple of hours. Bang for the buck it is an awesome room that didn't cost much money to create, but will last my son until he's in high school. The only thing missing from the room is the ability to walk out on a deck and cast a fishing line.
