Baby girl nursery

I found out about a year ago I was expecting my first girl. I wanted her room to be special, and I had a few ideas in mind, but nothing jumped out at me until a friend gave me a bedding set for my baby's nursery.

It was purple with butterflies and other bugs, and incorporated white polka dots into it. From my two older boys, I was able to use the nursery curtains because of the pale lavender and bugs theme on them.

I already had a crib, but it was outdated and old, and had been recalled because of the drop sides on it. My mother purchased a new, white crib and dresser/changing table for my little girl, which made the room even more feminine and pretty.

I added some of my own final touches to make the room hers. I found wood bug cutouts at an art and craft store which I was able to paint myself, and I matched the pale lavender paint from the bedding set to paint the walls.

The nursery came together more beautifully than I expected. The white crib and dresser set off the pale purple walls beautifully.

The room is soft, calming, and completely feminine, perfectly suited to the only girl in our family.

The final accent is a white rocking chair in the corner of her room to balance and offset the layout.

I can honestly say, it is my favorite room in our whole home. It will remain versatile for her throughout her childhood as well. Her room can be changed easily to suit a growing girl by simply changing some of the accents.
